GREEK SCHOOL
Greek School is looking for Guest Readers!
Students are always OVER THE MOON when someone they know shows up to read with them. It is so impactful to model good reading habits, and it allows participants of the program to invest in the continued success and preservation of our Greek School.
All volunteers must complete a Police Information Check (PIC).
- If you have a valid PIC (issued within the last two years), please submit it to greekschool@calgaryhellenic.com.
- If you do not have a valid PIC, please contact the school and we will email you the necessary documentation (the school will cover associated fees).
Once everything is finalized, we will send a confirmation email. Questions? Send us an email at

GREEK FLAG RAISING ON MARCH 25TH
The Greek flag at City Hall – March 25th
The City of Calgary has approved the raising of the Greek flag to commemorate Greek Independence Day! The flag will be flown on the north side of municipal plaza at City Hall on March 25th. It will be flown from sunrise to sunset on that day (approximately 7:00 am – 9:00 pm).
As March 25th falls on a weekday, the community will not be organizing a group to attend the flag raising ceremony. If you choose to head down to City Hall for a photo, send it to us at displayboard@calgaryhellenic.com so we can post it on our socials!

2025 Heritage Greece Program
The Hellenic Heritage Foundation (HHF) is pleased to announce that we will once again be sponsoring a select group of students across Canada, to take part in a once in a lifetime opportunity to explore their Hellenic heritage and reconnect with their culture. Applicants must indicate which city they would like to be placed as well as which Session Date(s) they prefer. Click here for more information and to apply. Application deadline is March 30th.
Orthodox Young Adults Retreat
Being held from May 9-11 at the Entheos Retreat Centre, near Calgary, Alberta. The cost is $260 for students, $280 for regular, and $520 for a married couple.

Met Youth Canada will be hosting its annual Youth Assembly in Montreal, Quebec from June 27 to 30. A weekend of faith, friends and fun, we hope to see Youth and young adults from 16 to 30 years of age.
